I'll start by telling you about the dog. I know the animal lovers will understand.
Last week, she appeared at my cabin. Costa Rica is different with their dogs. They run through the neighborhood so it's not uncommon to have to shoo them away. But, this one I could tell seemed to not know where to go. She kept coming back, and I could see she was hungry. I know, I know.. once you feed them it's game over. But I couldn't bare to watch her suffer. I said she couldn't stay, but she's been here a week so far. I said I wouldn't name her.. but say hi to Dora. She follows me everywhere, and it's ridiculously adorable.
She's an adventurer, who undeniably has friendly Labrador DNA. I'm actively looking to find her a home, but we will see what the universe decides. Because so far, she's my new hiking buddy. If there's anything I've learned in this life.. it's that when we think we aren't ready for something, or convince ourselves something isn't going to happen, there's a laugh track playing in the background. We don't always get a say in the plan, we pivot with purpose.
