I’ve been reflecting a lot lately about women’s stories and why so many of them seem to be finding their way back to the surface right now.
It feels like a collective remembering happening alongside a very personal one
This summer I had a conversation that stayed with me. Eugenia, (a lovely women who hosted us in her home) and I were preparing a meal when she asked me why I had chosen Crete for my retreat. I told her that it seemed like the island had called to me. I had been intentionally looking for places where women’s history and their powerful positions were engrained within the culture. The more I learned about Crete and the women of the Minoan world, the more fascinated I became by what this island wanted us to see.
Eugenia looked at me with so much emotion and told me that she had grown up in Crete and hadn’t known about some of these important parts of her own history. She felt pride and excitement in knowing this was magnetically attracting more to visit. Here was a woman who had lived her entire life surrounded by this history, and yet parts of it had been unknown to her too. And now people were traveling from around the world wanting to learn about it. To me, that’s incredibly moving.
I haven’t stopped thinking about that conversation because I feel like something similar is happening on a much larger scale. More and more of us are asking questions we may not have thought to ask before. Why were certain stories left out? Why were some changed, minimized, or told from only one perspective? What else don’t we know? We are uncovering stories of women who held positions of power, shaped cultures, resisted, and contributed in ways many of us were never taught. We are finding new archaeological evidence that challenges what we thought we knew. We are even learning more about women’s health and confronting how much has been overlooked or dismissed.
And speaking of Greece, isn’t it amazing how even 3000 year old stories such as the Odyssey have drawn in fresh excitement with not only the movie, but all of the women’s retellings of mythology that have gained so much attention as well? They have sparked debates, made us question perspectives around morality, women’s roles, and overall opened a channel of curiosity within people of all ages.
It’s empowering.. and exciting to question what we’ve been told and remain open to what we might discover. I don’t believe in coincidence. I do believe truth has a way of always finding its way to the surface.
The stories are resurfacing. Maybe ours are too.
Have you noticed the parallel happening within so many women right now? More and more women seem to be finding themselves in that in-between space where an old version of life no longer quite fits, but the next version hasn’t fully caught up yet. They are questioning who they’ve been, what they’ve been taught to want, what they are capable of, and so much more. Some might say identity crisis or a midlife crisis, but this is bigger. We are witnessing a remembering of identity, intuition, and our voices.
This is why these intentional spaces are extra meaningful to me. I wasn’t just looking for beautiful places. I was drawn to places that hold depth. I wanted to create experiences where we could step into those places, learn something about the women who came before us, and allow those stories to spark something within our own lives.
We honor these women by thinking about what they made possible for us, what they had to be brave enough to do, and what we are now being given the opportunity to do. We hold the curiosity we have about the past while also looking at what is unfolding around us right now and asking ourselves what story we want to participate in creating.
We are living through our own moment in history. We don’t yet know how it will all be understood years from now, but we do get to decide how we show up within it.
That feels like a pretty powerful reason to gather women together. ♥
If this resonated with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Private & Custom Retreats
Some of the most meaningful celebrations and shifts I’ve witnessed have happened through customized retreats. Whether for celebrations, team building, spiritual intentional space, adventure seekers, or 1:1 space to reflect. These retreats are created around your intention, allowing you and your group to let go of planning and fully receive, knowing every detail is thoughtfully handled so you can rest, connect, and be fully present. Space to breathe.
Living here in Costa Rica allows me access to incredible locations, local connections, and authentic experiences. But, custom retreats are not limited to here! Depending on timing and availability, options can also be created in locations such as the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Greece, and Spain pairing you with the most aligned experience for your vision.
Due to building relationships with incredible small businesses and local families, I’m able to help create experiences that feel authentic, conscious, and deeply meaningful. The kind of experiences that simply can’t be booked through traditional travel sites.
If you’ve been dreaming about gathering your loved ones, celebrating something meaningful, or creating space for yourself to reconnect, let’s explore what’s possible together!
